Rewards
The Rewards feature lets you add free gift products to subscriber orders as a loyalty perk. Rewards appear as banners on your storefront and are automatically included in orders.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”Rewards are delivered through two mechanisms depending on the order:
First Order (Checkout)
Section titled “First Order (Checkout)”When a customer places their initial subscription order:
- The order is created through Shopify checkout
- Gro adds the reward gift product to the order after checkout (via Shopify Order Edit)
- The gift is added at a 100% discount — free to the customer
Recurring Orders
Section titled “Recurring Orders”For subsequent subscription deliveries:
- The gift is included as a pending item at $0 price
- When the billing cycle runs, the gift is added to the subscription contract
- The gift appears on the recurring order alongside the subscribed products
Setting Up Rewards
Section titled “Setting Up Rewards”Navigate to Subscriptions → Rewards in the Gro dashboard:
- Select gift products — choose which Shopify products to offer as free gifts
- Configure display settings — customise the reward banner shown on your storefront
- Set eligibility rules — define which subscription products qualify for the reward
